Kingswood Locality Hub, Bristol

The new Children & Young Persons Locality Hub provides a range of children and young person's services for the local community. The Hub is constructed using an innovative timber structure sourced from FSC approved forests which sequesters over 250 tonnes of carbon in the building.

 

The building also incorproates the following low carbon features:
· 30kW Thermal Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
· 62m² of solar PV cells
· Reduced air permeability of 3m³/h/m² @ 50Pa
· Enhanced building fabric
· Daylight linked dimming of artificial lighting
· External solar shading
· Integrated automatic natural ventilation.

 

The Hub is on target to achieve a BREEAM 'Very Good rating while providing the Client with a low energy and low maintenance solution to their needs.
