31 Great George Street, Bristol
For The Church Commissioners
On a prominent south facing site ending an important Georgian
terrace in a central Conservation Area, the building respond
sympathetically to its historic context and at the same time
exploits its hillside topography to maximise the quality of
the office space. The Great George Street element of the building
is of similar proportions to the adjacent buildings, and the
lower floors are developed as a series of terraced levels arranged
around a central courtyard.
Use of natural ashlar stonework and soft red brickwork throughout
ensures the building is sympathetic to its historic neighbours.
