Bristol Harbourside
For Bristol City Council, British Gas, British Rail, JT Group
& Lloyds TSB
Alec French Architects, as part of Concept Planning Group,
prepared a masterplan and design guidance for the largely derelict
28 hectares of Bristol Harbourside. The area was to be redeveloped
with new cultural and leisure facilities, together with residential, retail and office uses.
The masterplan and design guidelines were agreed by the Landowners
and the City Council and formed an important and essential context for Bristol's successful Millennium bid.
Following the completion of the Millennium project and the appointment of developers, masterplanning of the site has been undertaken by others.
